Yesterday we had a birthday party for Nicole. Its not her birthday until the 17th but they have a hockey tournament that weekend so we thought this would be easier. We rented The Boys and Girls Club in Fort Saskatchewan and had about 20 people come over. The club is good because they have a gymnasium, a kitchen, fooseball, pool, air hockey, and music.Â
Ron had been out ice fishing all week and we didn’t expect him until supper time but he dragged his buddies out of bed at the crack of dawn and they drove back from Sasktachewan in time for him to come to the party.
The kids played floor hockey, soccer, and all kinds of wild and noisy games. They ate pizza, veggies, chips, cookies and cake and all rolled out, after 3 hours, full and exhausted. Me too.

You had pizza, chips, cookies and cake available and you still managed to get them to eat veggies?
How on earth did you manage that minor miracle?

Hi Mig-Yes, I played – soccer and fooseball, two faves.
Mrs A. – nice to see you. thanks for the link.
UC and lucyshoosy – I’ll pass on your birthday wishes.
Piggy – it IS a miracle isn’t it? Nicole actually likes veggies and one of her little friends doesn’t eat anything but veggies. What is the world coming to these days?

I so rarely attend the child’s birthday party anymore — there is a hole in my heart the shape of Chuckee Cheese’s.

wow, ice-fishing. That sounds so much more glamorous than normal fishing. Although I suspect colder.
